Dale Dobson put together mscs mid late 2002 as a means of providing much misunderstood information on the various air engineered products available in the modern laboratory.

Products include microbiological safety cabinets, fume cupboards, both recirculating/ductless and traditional ducted, laminar flow clean air cabinets and enclosures, powder weigh cabinets and various other specialist clean air/containment cabinet solutions.

With his vast experience within the industry and the many lectures carried out at universities, consultants and pharmaceutical companies as well as many high profile committee appointments including the British Standards institute re the recently introduced and current European (British) norm for microbiological safety cabinets BS EN12469 2000 (BS5726 1992 is now replaced by BS EN12469:2000 and contrary to the information given by many IS NOT a lesser standard) he is well placed in providing the guidance and knowledge to those that seek to do it right when looking for the correct solution for their particular application/process.

Apart from the pretty mundane stuff, Dale also has extensive experience of bespoke msc design from a simple class II with a microscope interface to full robotic msc enclosures, so whatever the requirement it is likely the correct knowledge/information is on hand.

In addition to the above, Dale can advise on the European dimension when considering the various options available as he has first hand knowledge of the way they approach things (yes, they work differently to the way the UK does -- and believe it or not their systems are just as safe  -- well most of the time)!
