The PCR (polymerase-chain-reaction)) cabinet is available as either a passive (no fan or hepa filtration) UV cabinet enclosures or the more sophisticated fan assisted hepa filtered clean air type (laminar air flow - laf) type. The passive pcr cabinet relies on the effectiveness of the strategic positioning of UV tube (s) thus UV radiation to eradicate any contamination present or that may occur. The fan assisted hepa filtered pcr cabinet provides both a hepa filtered air stream over the worksurface thus reducing contamination in the first instance and like the passive unit, UV sterilization system by means of an appropriately positioned UV tube (s). A huge benefit of a dynamic, fan assisted PCR cabinet is it can also be used for any purpose where a low cost clean (particle free) environment is required.
